Summer Camp: Seafaring Scientist

Seafaring Scientist
Grades 7 - 8

Spend full days on board the Quinnipiack becoming a true sailor and scientist as you explore Long Island Sound. With the Quinnipiack's captain and crew/educators you will identify animals and use scientific equipment like plankton tows, benthic grabs, and microscopes to collect data for our marine science database. You'll also learn how to chart your course, tie knots and the history of sailing and New Haven Harbor.

To reserve a space at camp for your child, complete the Summer Program Registration Form and return it with your deposit via mail or fax. Please note that a $200 deposit is required.

July 7th - 11th
July 28th - Aug 1st
Aug 18th - 22nd

9:00am - 4:00pm

Monday - Friday

Full Day program/Rain or Shine
Long Wharf Visitor Center Drop off/Pick up
Participants MUST bring a snack, lunch, sunscreen and water bottle each day!

$330/week Schooner Members
$355/week Non Schooner Members
